A clear future for Sensible.

Why we rebranded

Our clients are good people who have spent decades making smart financial decisions. Somewhere around the edge of retirement, they arrive with the same unanswered question: do I have enough?

More often than not, the answer is yes. It’s our job to prove it — not with a probability score, but with a straight answer you can actually believe.

For more than three decades, Sensible has worked with people approaching retirement to give them exactly that. Today we’re introducing a new brand and website that finally reflect how this firm has always operated.

The brand has changed. The way we approach our work hasn’t.

The philosophy behind the brand.

Sensible started with a CPA named Darrell Armuth, who left accounting because it wasn’t for him, took the exam to become an investment advisor, and built the firm one client at a time out of his home office in Reno.

His CPA training came with a strict set of ethical obligations, and that shaped an early, simple question: what does a client actually want? His answer was low fees, because fees compound against you over a lifetime whether you notice them or not.

His daughter, Lena, grew up watching him love that work. When she joined the firm, she brought a talent for making the most complicated parts of retirement planning sound as clear as anything else—no decoder required. She earned her CFP® and built the tools and process to back it up.

Together, they built something neither could have done alone — a firm where simplicity is not a marketing position but a genuine commitment to every client who walks through the door.

Why we refreshed our look and voice.

Sensible has grown almost entirely through word of mouth. A client tells a friend, a sibling, a neighbor approaching retirement, and that person calls us.

Ask those clients what they value, and the same words come up again and again: trust, honesty, and a level of clarity they didn’t get from their last advisor. They want someone who picks up the phone, tells them the truth, and never makes something simple sound complicated just to justify a fee.

Our old brand didn’t say any of that. It looked like something built for a different kind of firm, in a different decade — and it made a worse first impression than the actual firm behind it deserved.

The goal of this rebrand was never to become a different firm. It was to make sure the first impression someone gets from our website matches the one they get from an actual conversation with us.

A brand designed around clarity.

Every piece of the new brand was built around the same idea: say the true thing plainly, and give it room to land. That starts with confidence—the logo carries the same weight as the name beside it, and neither one hedges or asks for permission.

It carries through the color, too: the blue running through the brand isn’t the safe navy every other financial firm reaches for, but something clearer and more modern, the kind of blue you’d use to describe a fog lifting.

Everything else—the background texture, the type that occasionally steps back to let a single line of copy stand on its own—is in service of that same instinct. Clarity doesn’t need to shout. It just needs space.

The photography follows the same instinct: warm and unstaged, because the life our clients are protecting is real, not a brochure version of retirement. It’s meant to feel like proof that the life they’ve built is theirs to enjoy.

A few things will never change.

Behind the new brand, the actual experience of working with Sensible is exactly the same.

You’ll still build a plan around one number—how much you can actually spend in retirement—instead of a probability score that doesn’t tell you much of anything. You’ll still work directly with Darrell and Lena, not a rotating cast of advisors.

And you’ll still get a fast, same-day response when something comes up, because that’s simply how this firm has always operated.

The refreshed brand doesn’t change any of that. It just gives it a home that actually looks like it.

What’s ahead for Sensible.

To the clients who have trusted us with their retirement for years, sometimes decades—thank you. This firm exists because you gave it a chance long before we had a brand to show for it.

To everyone discovering Sensible for the first time: welcome. Take a look through the new site, watch the brand video, and see if the way we think about retirement sounds like what you’ve been looking for.

Retirement should feel like the payoff for everything you did right along the way, not another source of stress.

Our job is to give you a straight answer to the only question that matters—do you have enough—so you can spend the years ahead actually living them.
